Am I correct in assuming that the fact that my conveyancer is not isted on the Scottish Building Society Solicitor panel that there is a problem with the quality of her work?
That would more than likely be a wrong assumption to make. There are all sorts of perfectly reasonable explanations. The Council of Mortgage Lenders or BSA do not require online case tracking. Some law firms operate such technology and some don't.

It very much depends from lender to lender but many of the Terms and Conditions of Conveyancing Panel Appointment require the file to be held for a period of 6 years. The CML Handbook contains minimum requirements for solar panel roof-space leases, and solicitors are required to report to Scottish Building Society where a lease does not meet these requirements. The requirements relate to the installation of panels on properties in England and Wales. The CML are developing guidance for Northern Ireland and Scotland.

You should be able to recover this from the law firm if they were not on the Scottish Building Society panel. They should have asked at the outset which lender you were obtaining a mortgage with.
