What if is not on a specific bank’s Solicitor Panel? Is it possible for me to continue with my firm even though they may not be on the lenders approved list?
You have a number of options available to you here
  1. Carry on with your law firm but your bank will need to instruct a lawyer on their conveyancing panel.
  2. Retain a new solicitor to act in the purchase, obviously ensuring they are on the lender conveyancing panel.
  3. Convince to do everything within their powers to join the lender conveyancing panel
What tools are available to find a local solicitor on a specific conveyancing panel? I have a car and am prepared to travel up to 20 kilometers to meet the lawyer.
You can use the find a conveyancing panel tool on this page. Please choose the lender and your location and you will see a number of lawyers located nearest you. Alternatively you can type in the name of your proposed law firm and see if they are listed as being on the bank’s solicitor panel.
