About LenderPanel
LenderPanel is the UK's most comprehensive directory of mortgage-lender-approved conveyancing solicitors. We exist to solve a deceptively simple problem: every UK mortgage lender keeps its own panel of conveyancing firms it will accept, and choosing a solicitor who isn't on your lender's panel can delay or kill a property transaction.
What we do
LenderPanel maintains an up-to-date record of which conveyancing firms are approved on which lender panels across the UK. We cover 130+ lenders — from the major high-street banks (Halifax, Santander, Lloyds, Barclays, HSBC, NatWest) to specialist lenders, building societies, and buy-to-let providers.
Every firm in our directory is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) or the Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC). We don't accept advertising in exchange for inclusion, and we don't take referral fees from solicitors.
Who uses LenderPanel
- Home buyers and sellers checking their existing solicitor is approved on their mortgage lender's panel
- Mortgage brokers recommending compliant conveyancers to clients
- Estate agents matching buyers with firms that won't cause last-minute panel-membership issues
- Solicitors and conveyancers verifying their own panel listings and making sure their firm appears for prospective clients
Why panel membership matters
Most UK mortgage lenders require the conveyancer acting on their behalf to be a member of their approved panel. If your chosen solicitor isn't on the panel, the lender will typically either:
- Refuse to lend through them, and instruct a panel firm at additional cost (dual representation)
- Decline the transaction entirely, forcing you to swap solicitors mid-purchase
- Require the firm to apply for panel inclusion, often a slow process measured in weeks
LenderPanel exists so you never have to find out about panel-membership issues at the worst possible moment — exchange day.
How to use the site
Browse our lender directory to see panels by lender, search by location, or use the postcode search on any lender page to find approved firms near you. Every result links through to the firm's SRA / CLC details, contact information, and the full list of lenders on whose panels they currently sit.
