What if is not on a my prefered lenders Solicitor Panel? Can I still retain my firm notwithstanding that they may not be on the banks panel of approved conveyancing solicitors?
The options here are as follows
  1. Carry on with your law firm but your bank will need to instruct a lawyer on their conveyancing panel.
  2. Instruct a new firm to act in the purchase, obviously checking they are on the bank conveyancing panel.
  3. Ask to apply to join the lender lender panel
How do I search for a local solicitor on a specific conveyancing panel? I have a car and am prepared to travel up to 25 kilometers to meet the lawyer.
You can use the find a conveyancing panel search on this page. Please choose the lender and your location and you will see a number of lawyers located nearest you. Alternatively you can type in the name of your proposed law firm and see if they are listed as being on the bank’s solicitor panel.
